I once forgot my own wedding anniversary. It was liberating. What an overrated experience these days are. No one ever remembers them and if you do expect something, you are bound to be disappointed. It just isn't worth the disappointment. If you forget your own anniversary - how important is it really? Unless it's a milestone, such as a record or something. In my family no one ever gets divorced, so to be an exception in my family, I'd have to get a divorce.
I say - forget about it!
